Social Media "Double_Edged Sword"
Social media has become a part of our daily life. Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, TikTok and YouTube are used by millions of people in Pakistan. It has both bright and dark sides.
Advantages of Social Media:
1. Source of Knowledge: We can learn anything from YouTube and Google. Students take online classes.
2. Connection: It connects us with friends and family anywhere in the world, especially useful for Kashmiris living abroad.
3. Business and Jobs: Many people in Muzaffarabad and Pakistan earn money through online business, freelancing and pages.
4. Awareness: News spreads quickly. Social media helps in raising voice for justice and social issues.
5. Entertainment: It is a great source of fun and entertainment after work.
Disadvantages of Social Media:
1. Wastage of Time: Students spend hours scrolling reels and forget their studies.
2. Fake News: False information spreads very fast and creates confusion.
3. Health Issues: Too much screen time causes weak eyesight, lack of sleep and depression.
4. Privacy Risk: Our personal data can be hacked and misused.
5. Comparison and Jealousy: People show fake luxury life which makes others feel poor and sad.
Conclusion:
Social media is a tool. Like a knife can be used to cut fruit or to hurt someone. It depends on us how we use it. We should use it for learning and business, not for wasting time. Use social media, don't let social media use you.
